When Did News Become Gossip?

5th January 2015

When Did News Become Gossip?

A busy November and December working on two shorts and a Christmas show put me into a de facto media blackout the past six weeks or so. Maybe it's just returning to it with fresh eyes after some time under a news rock, but the news, even on supposedly superior outlets like Radio 4, seems to have turned from "news" to "gossip".

It first occurred to me a couple of days ago. With the run of A Christmas Carol at Trinity Theatre winding down, the veil had started to lift from my eyes a little. One of the first bits of reality to creep back in was the headline of a local newspaper on a sandwich board outside a brand of WH Smith: "OAP, 95, dies after being hit by van".

Obviously this is a very sad story, and my heart goes out to his family and friends, but even from my fleeting glance, I wondered if it is "news"...

Midnight Blue Released

20th December 2014

Midnight Blue goes live

The short, starring Juliette Finn and Ollie Bignell as two runaways who meet a priest and parishioner (Kris Robertson and Alison Seddon) when they break into a church late one Christmas Eve, was shot on location at the beautiful St Luke's Church in Tunbridge Wells.

Hard Work Pays Off

4-Star Stage Review

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Trinity Theatre's 2014 Christmas Show A Christmas Carol, which has just received a glowing 4-star review inThe Stage Magazine.

This is the third of Trinity's shows I have been heavily involved in, and the most involved I have been with one of their shows thus far, working on the in-show animation and projections, running the chaperoning of the young cast, and releasing three promotional videos, keeping me busy for much of November and all December.
