Movie-Making Workshop | 2012

Early in 2012, Sam was approached by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council to create and run a one-day movie workshop for fifteen 9 to 17 year olds as part of their Golden Jubilee celebrations.

The brief was to provide the participants with an introduction to movie-making equipment and techniques.

To this end, Sam wrote a short script set in the Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery where the workshop would take place. The morning took the form of an introduction to camera, light and sound equipment, and set etiquette.

In the afternoon, the participants shot, directed and acted in the short script, with the roles rotated so that each participant could try their hand at each part of the shooting process.

The finished short and some of the many outtakes can be seen below.
